Abstract

The device has a heating unit (1) e.g. electric resistor, for heating a heat transfer fluid e.g. water glycol, using an electric current source, where the heat transfer fluid is heated by the heating unit and the heat from the heat transfer fluid is stored in a thermal battery (2) e.g. latent heat battery, during certain phases. The heat from the battery is restored towards the heat transfer fluid during other phases. A heater radiator (3) assures heat exchange between a fluid e.g. air flow, to be reheated and the heat transfer fluid. An independent claim is also included for a method for heating a motor vehicle with partial or total electric driving system.
