Abstract

The present invention relates to a tampon (200) for feminine hygiene having a longitudinal body showing in compressed condition a length and a width, whereby said tampon comprises compressed absorbent fibrous material and has an outer circumferential surface which is provided with longitudinal grooves (222) that are separated from each other by longitudinal ribs (226), characterised in that it further comprises a plurality of discrete indentations (224) arranged in the longitudinal direction and flanked by two longitudinal grooves, at least one indentation (224) being spatially separated from the flanking longitudinal grooves. It further relates to a press and method for its production.
