Abstract

A system to retain a part (12) within a housing (60) includes a part (12), a spring loaded retaining pin (30) which can be moved to be fully within the part, a locking pin (54) to hold the retaining pin within the part (12) when the part (12) is being set into or withdrawn from the housing (60), and an annular recess (62) in the housing (60) to receive the retaining pin (30) when the part (12) is set in the housing (60), the locking pin (54) is removed and the retaining pin (30) is pushed outward by the spring (40). The part (12) is retained within the housing (60) when the spring (40) pushes the retaining pin (30) outward so that the retaining pin (30) engages the annular recess (62) in the housing (60).
