Abstract

The system (1) has a lighting module for generating a code beam (2) with a cut in an upper part of the beam. Emission devices (4, 5) comprise LEDs for generating additional beams (6, 7). The devices are arranged such that the additional beams are movable with respect to the code beam and partially located above the cut. A processing unit defines an area to be illuminated according to detection and location of obstacles e.g. oncoming vehicle (30), pedestrian in kerb, and indicating panel. A control unit directs the additional beams on the area. An independent claim is also included for a lighting method for a motor vehicle.
