Abstract

The barrel (1) has a circular drum (10) including an inner side wall (11) whose friction surfaces (12) rotate with blocking structures forming round and square active projecting corners (15a, 15b) or an active returning corner at edges of the surfaces, where the structures are formed of notches (13). A drive spring (20) forms a coil comprising an outer turn (21). The spring is frictionably coupled with the wall, and freely slides against the wall in case of overtension of the spring. The surfaces are limited at downstream side with respect to a turn sliding direction by the round corner. An independent claim is also included for a timepiece comprising an automatic winding movement.
