Abstract

A roof (102) comprising: a plurality of roofing elements (103), a plurality of battens (401) ; a solar energy collection device (109) ; and a plurality of flashing elements (501) . The battens (401) have the plurality of roofing elements attached thereto, and a plurality of said roofing elements (103) are edge roofing elements having edges arranged to define a line extending down the roof. The flashing elements (501) each have a first portion (504) , a second portion (505) and a plurality of grooves (506) extending along lines. The first portions (504) of the flashing elements are positioned beneath a respective one of the edge roofing elements (103), and the flashing elements (501) are folded about the lines such that the second portions of the flashing elements are brought closer together. The collection device (109) is positioned alongside the edge roofing elements and over the second portions of the flashing elements.
