Abstract

The method involves inputting topological data (102) such as altitude difference, of a portion of a railway system by a user, and automatically generating a track model (104) of the portion of the railway system by a calculation unit using the data. A set of rules for positioning a track equipment e.g. signaling light, to be placed on the track model, is chosen (106) by the user. A chosen rule executing order is chosen (108) by the user. A railway signal diagram of the portion of the railway system is generated (110) by the calculation unit using the positioning rules and the track model. An independent claim is also included for a device for generating and editing a railway signal diagram, comprising a database.
