Abstract

A control system of a vehicle (1) includes a control device that performs output control of an electric power source (20) in an EV running mode with reference to an output permissible value corresponding to the EV running mode as an upper limit, and a running mode selecting device that enables the driver to select a desired running mode, from a plurality of EV running modes (EV1,EV2,EV3) each of which is set for each rotational speed or vehicle speed region of the electric power source (20), and a non-EV running mode. The output permissible value of the electric power source between adjacent ones of the EV running modes (EV1,EV2,EV3) as viewed in a direction in which the rotational speed or the vehicle speed changes is set to a predetermined value, and the output permissible value on the higher rotational speed or vehicle speed side in the EV running mode on the side of the lower rotational speed or vehicle speed region, and the output permissible value on the lower rotational speed or vehicle speed side in the EV running mode on the side of the higher rotational speed or vehicle speed region, are higher than the predetermined value.
