Abstract

An information processing apparatus (101) having a history control function that is capable of using a limited history storage area effectively and of analyzing a history easily. A file storage unit (205) stores a file. A communication unit (206) communicates with an external apparatus (102 or 103) via a network (104). An operation request storage unit (205) stores operation requests to the file stored in the file storage unit (205) from the external apparatus (102 or 103). An analysis unit (303) analyzes the operation requests stored in the operation request storage unit (205). An operation log storage unit (303) determines contents of the operation requests to the file stored in the file storage unit (205) based on an analysis result by the analysis unit (303), and to store the contents as operation logs about the file stored in the file storage unit (205).
