Abstract

The device (1) has a processing circuit (15) for automatic detection of connection direction of a lighting system i.e. lighting module or system (3) with LEDs (16-19). An injection unit injects polarity test current pulse for detection of passage of current. The circuit has a control unit for controlling supply voltage and current during the pulse. Current or voltage direction inversion unit formed of power electronic circuits (8, 9) is controlled by the processing circuit for controlling current passage direction and for assigning supply voltage or current direction. An independent claim is also included for a power supply method for an LED lighting system.
