Abstract

A boiler grate (102) is provided, which comprises: air channels for supplying primary air to a furnace (100) of a boiler; at least one channel (203), which is open on top, whereby the channel is arranged to collect ash and material from the furnace; and at least one as removal means (301, 701, 751), which is placed in said channel and arranged to move ash and material mechanically along the channel. In addition, a boiler is provided, which comprises said grate (102); a furnace (100), which is limited by the walls (101) of the furnace and said grate (102); and an ash chute (103), which is arranged to remove ash and material from the furnace. The ash removal means (301, 701, 751) is arranged to move ash and material towards the air chute. In an example the grate comprises a set of air nozzles (201, 202), which are arranged to supply primary air into the furnace; and the channel is placed between the air nozzles.
