Abstract

The present invention provides a method of mobility management of a mobile device located within an area covered by a plurality of communication technologies able to communicate with this mobile device, comprising a step of establishing a communication session between said mobile device and a given technology serving node being in communication with said mobile device. The serving node retrieves information relative to at least one given criterion applied on each cell of the area, said information being provided by at least one other node of another technology covering the zone where the mobile is located. The serving node selects of at least one frequency among the frequencies used by said other nodes according to the retrieved information, the selected frequency having a higher criterion value than the criterion value of the frequency used by the serving node. The serving node sends to the mobile device of the selected frequency and triggers the mobile device to start measuring signals of the selected frequency. Then, the mobile device transmits a report containing measurements performed on at least one selected frequency. The present invention provides also the associated radio controller.
