Abstract

The method involves detecting addition of displays (12) in a gas cylinder distribution system (10) or removal of the displays from the distribution system. A number of gas cylinder racks (14) of each of the added or removed displays are determined. A management file for managing a stock of gas cylinders is updated. Data is exchanged between a control terminal (16) and one of the displays by a data link (18) e.g. radioelectric link, during detection or determination or updation step. A signal is emitted by the display and processed by the control terminal. An independent claim is also included for a system for distributing gas cylinders.
