Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of controlling a gateway (101) regarding the communication flow being or to be processed through said gateway (101). Said gateway (101) is assigned to a first communication network (1), in particular a mobile radio network. The first communication network (1) comprises a media plane (100) with at least one communication channel (103) to which the gateway (101) is linked, and a control plane (200), with at least one signaling channel (203) to which a control device (201), an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) for example, is linked. The control device (201) is adapted to controlling the gateway (101). The method comprises that inside a receiver device (225) which is assigned to the first communication network (1) a request for controlling the gateway (101) is received. Said request is received from an external third party device (110). By use of an influence device (227) which, in particular, is assigned to the first communication network (1), the control device (201) is influenced according to the request and the influenced control device (201) controls the gateway (101) regarding the communication flow being or to be processed through said gateway (101). Furthermore the present invention relates to a system of controlling a gateway (101). In addition, the present invention relates to a method of controlling the extent and nature of communication of a communication device (50) through a gateway (101).
