Abstract

The apparatus (1) has a heat generator (4) attached to a hollow, rectilinear metal rod (2), where the generator has a fan and a heating resistor and projects a hot air jet (J1) into an inner volume (V5) of a bell (5). The bell is provided a free edge (551) to support the apparatus on a ground and with a hole to discharge a secondary air jet (J2) from the volume. The hole is separated from the edge by distance greater than 2 cm. The edge is extended in a plane tilted by angle ranging between 1 and 30 degrees relative to a plane perpendicular to a direction of the hot air jet. An independent claim is also included for a manual and localized weeding method.
