Abstract
It is disclosed a method for managing a power consumption of a radio communication network. The radio communication network comprises at least two nodes and a connection path connecting the two nodes under propagation conditions of the connection path. The method comprises: determining a set of states of the connection path, wherein the connection path, in each state, has a state capacity and a state power consumption; upon reception of a request relating to traffic carried on the connection path, selecting a state having a minimum state power consumption within the set of states, the selected state having a state capacity higher than or equal to a capacity associated to the traffic and matching the propagation conditions of the connection path; and operating the nodes so as to bring the connection path in the selected state.
