Abstract

The invention relates to a lead lag damper (10, 11) for a helicopter rotor unit with a rotor and a hub (8), said lead lag damper (10, 11) being adapted to be coaxially supported with a first of its sides (9) on the hub (8) or a non-rotating shaft and being provided with linking means at a second of its sides (7) to link said second side (7) to said rotor or at least one blade (1 - 4) of said rotor. The lead lag damper (10, 11) has an essentially cylindrical shape, the second side (7) is opposed to the first side (9) and the elastomer material between said first and second sides (7, 9) is resistant to any shear deformation.
