Abstract

An exposure controlling apparatus controlling an exposure amount of an imaging element, including a first unit determining an optimum exposure amount variation from an output luminance information of the imaging element; a second unit determining a corrected optimum exposure amount variation by multiplying the optimum exposure amount variation with a value from dividing a current exposure amount with a maximum exposure amount obtainable by the imaging element; a third unit determining an optimum exposure amount by adding the corrected optimum exposure amount variation to the current exposure amount; a fourth unit determining an exposure time according to the optimum exposure amount; and a fifth unit setting the exposure time in the imaging element.
