Abstract

The cross-piece has a layer (16) including a coil presenting a winding angle ranging between 30 and 90 degrees relative to a main direction of a tube (2). The layer includes a glass thread coated with polymerized thermoplastic resin. Another layer (18) includes two crossed coils inclined according to an angle ranging between 40 and 60 degrees relative to the direction of the tube, and a carbon thread is coated with compatible polymerized thermoplastic resin. A peripheral layer (19) includes a coil presenting an angle ranging between 70 and 90 degrees relative to the direction of the tube. The cross-piece includes functional elements that are reinforced by glass fibers, and metal or plastic parts. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a cross-piece for an instrument panel.
