Abstract

Provided is a wire-to-board connector I including a plug 3 attached to a wire 2, and a receptacle 5 mounted on a circuit board 4. The plug 3 and the receptacle 5 are formed of metal. The plug 3 is fitted into the receptacle 5 to electrically connect the wire 2 to the circuit board 4. The receptacle 5 has an accommodating portion 11 formed in a tubular shape. The plug 3 has an inserted portion 31 to be inserted into the accommodating portion 11 of the receptacle 5. The inserted portion 31 includes a body plate 35 and an elastic piece 36 elastically supported in a cantilevered manner by the body plate 35. The elastic piece 36 of the inserted portion 31 has a free end 39. The accommodating portion 11 has an engaged portion 20. When the inserted portion 31 is inserted into the accommodating portion 11, the free end 39 engages with the engaged portion 20 along with an elastic deformation of the elastic piece 36, thereby allowing the plug 3 to be fitted into the receptacle 5.
