Abstract
An air cycle machine (12) is provided and includes a compressor section (18) having a variable area diffuser (322), a turbine section (22) having an inlet nozzle (32) with a variable size, a motor (38) to drive the compressor (18) and a common rotating shaft (20) on which the compressor section (18), the turbine section (22) and the motor (38) are mounted, the turbine section (22) driving rotation of the shaft (20) to drive the compressor section (18) with the motor (38).
