Abstract

The present invention relates to an acoustic resonator (10) of a system for piping gas, in particular an intake system or an exhaust system, of an internal combustion engine in particular of a motor vehicle and a process for manufacturing an acoustic resonator (10). The resonator (10) comprises a housing (12) with a volume (13) for the gas. The housing (12) has at least one opening (14, 16) for the gas. The housing (12) has at least one extension (20) that projects in radial direction to an axis (24), which passes through the at least one opening (16), beyond this at least one opening (16). The housing (12) is formed in one piece.
