Abstract
The wheel (1) has a washer (3), where the wheel is overmolded by injecting plastic material onto the washer that is slipped onto a shaft (2). The washer has a lower density than the shaft. The washer comprises a planar surface (4) constituting a bearing and a sealing surface to sealingly engage with an injection mold for performing overmolding operation. An escapement wheel is created during overmolding operation. An escapement pinion (5) is mounted to rest against the washer or secured to the washer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a timepiece element (2) a method for manufacturing an overmolded timepiece wheel.
