Abstract

A method to protect a mobile equipment against robbery comprising the steps of: - building an external backward code (E-BC) including the equipment identifier of said mobile equipment and a subscriber identifier of a registered mobile subscriber, by using an algorithm (ALG), - storing said external backward code (E-BC) into said mobile equipment, - computing an internal backward code (I-BC) including the equipment identifier (IMEI-U) of said mobile equipment and the subscriber identifier (IMSI-U) of the mobile subscriber used in said mobile equipment, using the same algorithm (ALG) as the registering step, - checking validity of the internal backward code (I-BC) against the stored external backward code (E-BC), - allowing normal use of the mobile equipment if said validity check is positive
