Abstract

The present invention relates to a method (100) for performing mobility decision by a radio access point (BS) of a radio network communication system (S) for a user equipment (UE) of said radio network communication system (S) served by said radio access point (BS), said method (100) comprising: - computing a normalized user equipment maximum transmit power (PHn) from a power headroom reported (PHrp) by said user equipment (UE); - computing a power headroom metric (PHm) which is equal to said normalized user equipment maximum transmit power (PHn) minus a power headroom required (PHre) by said user equipment (UE), said power headroom required (PHre) being the power required for the user equipment (UE) to sustain a guaranteed bit rate throughput ; - comparing said power headroom metric (PHm) with a first threshold (TH2) and with a first value (HYS2) ; - emitting a measurement report (MEAS_RP) if said power headroom metric (PHm) has remained inferior to said first threshold (TH2) plus said first value (HYS2) during the whole duration of a timer (T2), said timer being triggered when said power headroom metric (PHm) has become inferior to said first threshold (TH2) minus said first value (HYS2) ; - based on said measurement report (MEAS_RP), performing a decision for mobility (DES_MOB) for said user equipment (UE).
