Abstract

Embodiments provide methods, apparatuses and computer programs for a remote unit 100 and a central unit 200 of a base station transceiver 300. The apparatus 10 for the remote unit 100 of the base station transceiver 300 comprises first means 12 for communicating with a mobile transceiver 400 associated to the remote unit 100 and second means 14 for communicating with the central unit 200. The second means 14 is operable to receive control information from the central unit 200. The control information comprises information on a retransmission of data between the remote unit 100 and the mobile transceiver 400. The remote unit apparatus 10 further comprises a transmission selection unit 16 operable to determine whether a data transmission between the remote unit 100 and the mobile transceiver 400 has failed, wherein the transmission selection unit 16 is operable to initiate a retransmission of data, for which a failed data transmission was determined, at the first means 12 for communicating based on the control information. The central unit apparatus comprises means for generating 22 control information and means for providing 24 the control information to the remote unit 100 for enabling the remote unit 100 to decide on a data retransmission based on the control information when a failed data transmission is determined.
