Abstract
Proposed is a passive optical TDM backhauling network with a master optical line terminal comprising a first optical line terminal transmitting a first optical TDM downstream signal at a first wavelength and a plurality of second optical line terminals transmitting respective second optical TDM downstream signals at respective different second wavelengths. The network contains a remote node. The remote node splits the first optical TDM downstream signal from its input port onto its output ports , by performing power splitting, and also demultiplexes the second optical TDM downstream signals onto respective ones of its output ports, by performing wavelength dependent demultiplexing.
