Abstract

An image forming apparatus is provided that can efficiently reduce power consumption. The image forming apparatus includes a power supply portion (170) that brings, into a power saving state, a paper feed device (108) holding a sheet of a sheet size whose paper feed frequency does not reach a threshold value and a notification portion (101) that provides a notification that a paper feed device holding the sheet of the sheet size whose paper feed frequency reaches the threshold value is encouraged to be the paper feed device (108) that is closer to the print portion (107) than the paper feed device (108) holding the sheet of the sheet size whose paper feed frequency does not reach the threshold value.
