Abstract

A developing device (30) including a containing means (210) configured to be arranged below a supply member (50) and contain a developer and a developer bearing member (40) configured to bear the developer and develop an electrostatic latent image, further includes a supply member (50) which is configured to supply the developer to the developer bearing member (40), to be arranged to form a nip portion (N) between the supply member (50) and the developer bearing member (40), and to rotate in a direction in which its surface moves from an upper end to a lower end of the nip portion (N), and a conveyance member (220) which is configured to convey the developer contained in the containing means (210) onto the supply member (50).
