Abstract

A milling collet (14) is disclosed that includes a pull-out preventer (50). The pull-out preventer (50) is configured to prevent axial migration of a fluted milling tool (12, figs 1, 3 & 4) out of the milling collet (14) . The milling collet (14) includes a through-hole (44) extending from a rear-end aperture (46; fig 2B) to an opposing cutting-end aperture (48) of a basic body (42) thereof. The pull-out preventer (50) is located at the cutting-end aperture (48) of the basic body (42). Also claimed is a method of retaining a fluted milling cutter (12) in a milling collet (14).
