Abstract

A haptic display device is disclosed. In one aspect, the device includes a plurality of scan lines (121) disposed over a substrate (100) and a plurality of data lines (171) electrically insulated from and crossing the scan lines (121). The device also includes a plurality of haptic control lines (410, 420, 430, 440) electrically insulated from the scan lines (121) or the data lines (171). The device further includes, for each haptic control line (410, 420, 430, 440), there is at least one haptic member (510, 520, 531, 532, 533, 541, 542, 543) provided between the respective haptic control line (410, 420, 430, 440) and one of either the scan lines (121), or the data lines (171), or first electrodes (190) or a second electrode (270) atop a barrier rib (350) and facing the first electrode (190)..
