Abstract

A method for producing an aircraft structure component (1) is disclosed the component having an outer skin (3) provided with a smooth outer surface (5). The method comprising the following the steps: providing an aircraft structure component (1) having an outer skin (3) including at least one recess (7), detecting the location of said at least one recess (7) by means of a recess detecting device (17), and filling said at least one recess (7) at the detected location with particles of a filling material (23), said particles of filling material (23) being applied into said at least one recess (7) by means of an ink jet printing device (27).
