Abstract

A power-assisted vehicle includes (A) a moving start sensor (106) configured to output a moving start signal in response to a moving start instruction given from a rider; and (B) a controller (1020, 1020b, 1020c) configured to start driving a motor (105) in response to a torque input or a pedal rotation input in the case where the moving start signal from the moving start sensor (106) is detected. With the moving start sensor, the rider's intention to start moving can be accurately detected. Thus, a rapid assist can be given in response to the intention.
