Abstract

A wheel 3 includes an axle 32, a motor 381, a hub 33 and a rotational displacement detection mechanism 41. The axle 32 is supported on a body frame 2 of a wheelchair 1. The motor 381 is mounted on the axle 32. The hub 33 includes a wheel hub 383 mounted on the axle 32 and handrim base section 39 relatively rotatably supported on the axle 32 and rotatable relative to the wheel hub 383. The rotational displacement detection mechanism 41 detects rotational displacements of the handrim base section 39 relative to the wheel hub 383 and have a center of rotation coinciding with an axle center of the motor 381.
