Abstract

The device (1) has a phosphorescent light source (5) in a casing (3) of a timepiece (100), and a collection unit (6) for channeling external light energy from the ambient environment of the casing towards the phosphorescent light source. A light component includes a light relay (50) connected to the phosphorescent light source by a built-in transmission unit (7), for illuminating a display indicator i.e. date disk either on a side opposite a window (4) in relation to the date disk or on the periphery of the window.
