Abstract
The present invention relates to a thermal recording material comprising: - a base layer; - one or more undercoat layers which is/are laid down on the base layer, wherein the undercoat layer(s) contain(s) a water-soluble resin and hollow particles; - a thermo-sensitive coloring layer which is laid down on the uppermost undercoat layer, on the opposite side with respect to the base layer; and - one or more protective layers which is/are laid down on the thermo-sensitive coloring layer, on the opposite side with respect to the undercoat layer(s); wherein the water soluble resin is a polyvinyl alcohol with a degree of the polymerisation which is at least 400 and at most 1000, and wherein the ratio by mass of the water-soluble resin in the dried state to the hollow particles in the dried state is at least 50% and at most 200%.
