Abstract

Method for network controlled optimization of the hybrid access traffic management for a residential user connected via a hybrid access home gateway, which provides at least two different network links with different technology to a core network, wherein the core network has a connection to the internet, wherein in the core network a Hybrid Access Server is located, which has a connection to the to the hybrid access enabled home gateway, over the two network links, comprising the steps wherein by using the following information available from the fixed and mobile access and aggregation networks comprising the steps: - extracting by the Hybrid Access Server one or more of the following information: Network link availability, Network link utilization, Quality of Service information with respect to the services requested from the home gateway; - selection of networks links, selection of the network traffic routing, and/or selection of the service routing by the Hybrid Access Server in communication with the hybrid access home gateway and/or other components in the network.
