Abstract

The invention relates to a method for enhancing machine type communication between a mobile communication network on the one hand and a machine type communication device on the other hand, wherein the machine type communication device comprises an interface device and a processing device, wherein the interface device is able - after having performed an attachment procedure - to be attached to the mobile communication network in the manner of a user equipment of the mobile communication network, wherein the processing device is configured to be operated in a first mode of operation and at least a second mode of operation, wherein the method comprises the following steps: - in a first step, in case that the processing device is in its first mode of operation, the interface device receives a paging message from the mobile communication network, the paging message being addressed, by the mobile communication network, to the interface device, - in a second step, the interface device triggers the processing device to change from the first mode of operation to the second mode of operation.
