Abstract

Process for the manufacture of vinyl chloride-containing copolymers by coordination - insertion polymerization of vinyl chloride with ethylene, characterized in that the catalyst used for the polymerization is selected from the palladium catalysts responding to formula I and the dimeric form of such palladium catalysts responding to formula II in which R1 is selected from hydrogen, methyl, neopentyl, benzyl and other carbyls which do not contain hydrogen in beta position to the metal, L is a weakly coordinated ligand and R2 and R3 are respectively either tert.-butyl and phenyl or both cyclohexyl.
