Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method for operating a mobile telecommunications device (600) in a telecommunication system (66) in an energy saving mode, the telecommunication system (66) comprising a development server (611) that is connected to the mobile communications device (600) via a network (613) of the telecommunication system (66); the mobile telecommunication device (600) comprising a processor (603), display device (625) and memory (607); wherein the memory (607) is configured to store a plurality of applications that are executable on the processor (603). The method comprises at the mobile telecommunication device (600) a. providing a mobile application (615) of the plurality of applications comprising first instructions that, when executed, display on the display device (625) a first graphical user interface (627) using a first display pattern (641); b. receiving, via the network (613), from the development server (611) an updated mobile application (617) being an updated version of the mobile application (615), wherein the updated mobile application (617) comprises second instructions that, when executed, generate on the display device (625) a second graphical user interface (629) using a second display pattern (643); c. generating a first markup-language record that encodes the first instructions; d. generating a second markup-language record that encodes the second instructions.
