Abstract

The present invention provides a method of adhering a part to a painted surface of a body of a vehicle, the method comprising: - providing an adhesive tape comprising a foam layer having a thermally cross-linked acrylic polymer and having opposite first and second major sides, wherein the surface of the first major side comprises a pressure sensitive adhesive and the surface at the second major side comprising a further adhesive; - priming the painted surface with a primer comprising a solution of a film forming polymer and or coupling agent in an organic solvent thereby obtaining a primed surface; - applying the adhesive tape to the primed surface via the pressure sensitive adhesive at the first major side of the adhesive tape; and - applying a part to the further adhesive at the second major side of the adhesive tape.
