Abstract

The transceiver (1) has a waveguide (2) including an inlet-outlet section (22), a coupling section (20) coupled to a portion of a ring resonator (6), and an amplification section (21) coupled to an optical reflector (4). Another waveguide (5) includes a receiving section (52), a coupling section (50) coupled to another portion of the ring resonator, and a reflecting section coupled to another optical reflector. A gain medium (7) is arranged in the amplification section to produce stimulated emission of light. An optical detector (8) is coupled to the receiving section of the latter waveguide. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an optical transceiver.
