Abstract

A cleaning device for cleaning a marine element towed in water and related methods are provided. The cleaning device (400) includes a body (410) configured to enclose the marine element (402); at least one wing (412) attached to the body (410) and configured to impart translational and rotational motion to the body (410) when interacting with the water; a switching and locking mechanism (414) configured to change an orientation of the at least one wing between a first orientation and a second orientation when contacting a stopper (404, 406) and also to lock the selected orientation; rotating means (440) attached to an internal surface of the body (410) and configured to contact the marine element (402), the rotating means (440) having axles (442) that make a fix angle with a longitudinal axis of the body (402); and a cleaning tool (420) attached to the body (402) and configured to clean the marine element.
