Abstract

A valve assembly (14) for an injection valve (10) comprises: - a valve body (20) comprising a central longitudinal axis (L) and a cavity (24) with a fluid inlet portion (26) and a fluid outlet portion (28), - a valve needle (22) axially movable in the cavity (24), the valve needle (22) preventing a fluid flow through the fluid outlet portion (28) in a closing position and releasing the fluid flow through the fluid outlet portion (28) in further positions, - an electro-magnetic actuator unit (16) being designed to actuate the valve needle (22), the actuator unit (16) comprising an armature (38), the armature (38) being axially movable in the cavity (24) and comprising a main body (40) and a hydraulic damper (42) being fixedly coupled to the main body (40) and having an inner surface (43) facing the main body (40), the inner surface (43) being designed to be in contact with the valve needle (22), the hydraulic damper (42) comprising a first opening (44) and at least one second opening (45), wherein the valve needle (22) extends through the first opening (44) and the second opening (45) provides a fluid passage from the fluid inlet portion (26) to the fluid outlet portion (28).
