Abstract

The invention provides a combination of a lifting airframe (13) and at least one carriage (15) to perform a flying operation with the carriage (15) coupled to the lifting airframe (13). The lifting airframe (13) comprises lifting surfaces including movable components driven by actuators, and propulsion means for allowing air transportation of said carriage (15) when coupled to the lifting airframe (13). The carriage (15) has a tubular fuselage-like shape with a vertical plane of symmetry. The lifting airframe (13) and the carriage (15) comprise cooperating means for coupling/decoupling the carriage (15) to/from the lifting airframe (13). The carriage (15) comprises at least a passenger cabin and/or a cargo compartment and landing gears. The invention also provides a method of air transportation of passengers and/or cargo using said combination.
