Abstract

An optical connector (1) includes: an optical fiber (3); a ferrule (7) provided at an end of the optical fiber (3) to allow a core (5) of the optical fiber (3) to be inserted through the ferrule (7); a housing (9) for accommodating the ferrule (7); a holder (13) inserted into the housing (9) and engaged with the housing (9) through an engagement portion (11) to allow the housing (9) to hold the ferrule (7); ribs (15) provided in the holder (13) so as to extend along an inserting direction of the holder (13) into the housing; and fitting portions (17) to which the ribs (15) are fitted.
