Abstract

A glow plug (10), comprising: a heating unit (820); and a sheath tube (810) including a tube portion (860) and a welded portion (850), the tube portion (860) being disposed at an outer circumference of the heating unit (820) and extending in an axial dline irection, the welded portion (850) containing at least a main constituent of the tube portion (860) and a main constituent of the heating unit (820) and blocking a front end portion (811) of the tube portion (850). In a range of 0.03 mm or more to 0.5 mm or less from a surface of the welded portion (860) to an inside of the surface, an average content ratio of aluminum is 2.5 mass% or less.
