Abstract

There is described an apparatus (10, 10', 10") for forming opening devices (3) on a sheet packaging material (2) for packaging pourable food products; the apparatus (10, 10', 10") comprises conveying means (30) for advancing the packaging material (2) along a given path (P), at least one molding unit (32) arranged along the path (P) and adapted to mold one opening device (3) on a receiving portion (8) of the packaging material (2), and at least one movable element (35) carrying the molding unit (32) and advanced parallel to at least a portion (P1) of the path (P) to allow the molding unit (32) to form the opening device (3) while the packaging material (2) is being advanced along the path (P).
