Abstract

An information processing apparatus (100) includes a status indicator (323) that displays status of a battery (310), a controller (200) that controls an operating mode of the information processing apparatus (100) and power supply to the status indicator (323), that includes at least an energy saving mode, and an instruction acceptance unit (321) that accepts user instruction for displaying the status of the battery (310) using the status indicator (323). The controller (200) stops power supply to the status indicator (323) in transitioning to the energy saving mode, and, in the energy saving mode, starts power supply to the status indicator (323) in response to the instruction acceptance unit (321) accepting the user instruction for displaying and stops power supply to the status indicator (323) in response to releasing the user instruction for displaying.
