Abstract

Invention is related to a method for controlling an alternating current electric machine (1) with a frequency converter (2) including a controllable machine bridge (3) and a controllable line bridge (4), and a corresponding frequency converter. The method comprises calculating a line bridge control signal (5),_controlling line current (9) through the line bridge (4) using the line bridge control signal (5),_measuring or estimating rotor pole position (¸) of the electric machine (1),_calculating a machine bridge control signal (6) as a function of the rotor pole position (¸), updating the machine bridge control signal (6) when the rotor pole position (¸) changes, and controlling current (8) of the electric machine through the machine bridge (3) using the machine bridge control signal (6).
